Ministry Update –
We're hiring! House of Mary is currently accepting resumes for full-time and part-time positions. All the information can be found on our Job Postings page. We are excited to see who God brings to this ministry and we know He is likely already working on the hearts of those that will fill these positions.
We are so excited to launch our Monthly Giving Campaign for the upcoming year! Now that the house is near completion, our greatest need going forward will be faithful contributions to fund monthly operating expenses. In short, consistent giving allows us to take a prepared, long-term approach to ministry planning and greatly reduces administrative costs. This means your donations go directly to where it's needed most – providing hope for pregnant women that have chosen life for their child. We are boldly asking you to set up a monthly donation. If you’d like to set up your monthly gift right away, you can do so on our Giving page.
If you would like to also give a tangible gift, you can shop our House Registry as well. Please be sure to ship to the address listed and update the registry when prompted.
In an effort to to grow our network of support, please fill out this short contact form. If you’ve already done this through the link posted on Facebook, there is no need to submit a second form.
House of Mary is getting a new look! While our current branding has served us well, we’ve made the decision to freshen it up before the house opens. The new logo pays homage to the original, but with a spiffed up look. We will transition to the new branding over the coming weeks.
House Update –
We are very close to completion of the house and the thought of that makes our hearts leap! We know so many of you are just as excited as we are and it is so encouraging to see that expressed through your comments, likes, and shares on social media. Real-time house updates can be seen right away on Facebook and Instagram, but below is a quick recap with pictures of recent progress in case you've missed anything.
Bathroom tile is complete! We are in love with the final result of the floors and showers. Shower doors will be installed soon!
Granite countertops were installed a few weeks ago as well as the backsplash in the kitchen. There is definitely character in that part of the home now. We were given a generous discount from a supplier and were able to purchase granite for around the same cost as we would have paid for laminate counters.
We now officially have a parking lot! The hammerhead design was required in the event of an emergency so first responders have space to pull up and turn around with ease. There are three parking spots on either side of the house, a sidewalk to the House Mom's entrance, and a pad for our dumpster. The remainder of the driveway will receive a fresh load of white rock soon.
Our punch list is definitely getting shorter and we only have a handful of things remaining. Our plumbers will be coming in soon to finish out the installation of sinks and fixtures. The electricians will be finishing out their portion as well with the installation of light fixtures, outlets, switches, etc. Once those items are complete, our HVAC system can also be finished out. Flooring for the remainder of the home will begin after the HVAC is complete, as the flooring planks have to acclimate for 48 hours. And finally.... Furnishings and decor! The part where we get to make the house a welcoming home. Like mentioned before, please consider shopping our House Registry. Remember to ship to the address listed and update the registry when prompted.
As always, thank you for your on-going support. This process is definitely a marathon not a sprint, but something tells us we have only just begun to lace up our shoes. We are ready to see what God will do in our community through the ministry of House of Mary.
If you follow us on social media you've probably already seen these beauties! All of the cabinets are complete and ready for paint. We also have POWER! That was definitely the most exciting bit of progress for the month.
Interior painting will hopefully be finished up soon and then we'll move on to flooring, tiling, and all the nitty gritty finishing details. For the exterior, we are waiting on the front parking area to be framed out and poured. After that is complete we will be able to paint the exterior and begin landscaping.
Thank you so much for all of your encouragement and support. Especially on the heels of Ladies Tea 2020 being cancelled (you can read the update about that here). Now more than ever your support is needed. The house will be finished soon, but it's truly only the starting line for this ministry. Once construction is complete, our ongoing need will be monthly operating expenses. We ask that you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly donor through one of the many options listed on our Giving page.
Thank you for sharing in our excitement over all of the little bits of progress made! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for real-time updates.
Dear House of Mary Supporters,
With very heavy hearts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Ladies Tea 2020. Our hope was to only postpone and reschedule for a later date, but with so many uncertainties surrounding the Covid-19 situation, we felt it best to cancel the event for this year.
Emails have already been sent out to our wonderful sponsors and ticket holders. If you did not receive an email regarding your sponsorship or ticket, please email email@example.com.
We appreciate each one of you and hope to see you all at Ladies Tea in 2021!
House of Mary Board
Thank you –
We wanted to take a moment to express our sincerest thanks to each person or group that made a donation to House of Mary in honor of D'Ann. Because of your generosity, the entire House of Mary kitchen has been funded. From cabinets and appliances to countertops and tile backsplash. D'Ann loved to host her friends and family in her own home. She had such a gift of hospitality and it seemed only fitting to allocate donations made in her honor to this part of the house.
In addition to your generous donations, every message, comment, note, and prayer has meant the world to us. We truly appreciate the kindness our community has shown over the last month. Thank you.
House Update –
There has been a lot of exciting progress made on the house over the last couple of months! When D'Ann found out her cancer had returned she was adamant that we not let her diagnosis or prognosis slow down the house build one bit. So we are continuing to move forward! Here are a few things that have been happening recently:
- Fire sprinkler system completed and tested
- Sheetrock installed, taped, and floated
- Texture sprayed on ceiling and walls
- Interior doors installed
- Interior trim completed
- Closet shelving and rods installed
- Ceiling and walls painted
- Production on all cabinetry started
We also recently had an online "Fund a Need" event where are large portion of build related items were purchased for the house! Bathroom vent fans and hardware, door knobs, and almost half of the main flooring for the house (you can click HERE to help cover the cost of the remaining boxes of flooring).
Moving forward is definitely bitter-sweet, but we are hopeful for the future. As always, thank you for your continued support.
