Miles for Mary - IMPORTANT INFO!

2/23/2016

We are less than 2 weeks away from our Miles for Mary fundraising event and we could not be more excited at the response so far! A few important reminders as we approach the February 28th registration deadline...

REGISTRATION & STUDENT WAIVERS: Please complete your registration as soon as possible at www.crowdrise.com/miles4mary (recommended) or by printing a registration form from our website, www.homlivingston.org/miles-for-mary. You can register as an INDIVIDUAL, set up your OWN team, or join an EXISTING team! Only those registered will be able to enter and participate. Students under the age of 18 must have printed waiver signed by parent and must be accompanied by an adult. Waiver is available on our website, www.homlivingston.org/miles-for-mary. Deadline to register is SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28th. Registration includes dinner, breakfast, and an awesome M4M shirt!
INDIVIDUALS: Individuals must register for the event before Feb. 28th. You will be able to choose that you will participate as an individual during the registration process. You are welcome to set up camp or your own personal rest-stop area along the track.

TEAMS: Team Captains (creator of team) AND EACH TEAM MEMBER must register for the event before Feb. 28th. Team members will be able to choose the team they want to join during the registration process. Teams are welcome to set up camp or a team rest-stop area along the track.

AWARDS: Once you complete registration (whether it's as an individual or part of a team), share the link for your personal Crowdrise fundraiser page and rally your friends and family to donate! There will be awards given to any individual that raises $250 or more and an award for the TOP INDIVIDUAL and TOP TEAM that has raised the most funds. A popular approach is to set a milage goal for yourself to walk during the event and ask family, friends, and coworkers to sponsor you per mile… "My goal is to walk 10 miles at Miles for Mary and I'm needing 10 people to donate $25 per mile to help me reach my fundraising goal of $250!"
Individual and team awards will be announced soon!

ENTERTAINMENT: Individuals and teams are responsible for their own entertainment throughout the night. Bring your horseshoes, ladder ball, corn hole boxes, washers, deck of cards, board games, bocce ball, croquet, football, frisbee, tug-o-war rope, balloon animals, magic tricks, juggling balls…You get the idea! Whatever will keep you (and your team) entertained during walking breaks.

And last, but certainly not least...

FOOD: Another important reason to get registered is food! A delicious dinner will be served at 7 p.m. prior to the event and we will end with breakfast at 8 a.m. It is very important that we have a headcount so we can plan the meals accordingly. There will also be concession stands open to purchase snacks (drinks, candy, TACOS, etc.) throughout the night to keep everyone fueled up!

PHEW! I think that covers just about everything! We look forward to seeing you! Remember... If staying up all night
isn't your thing, feel free to enjoy dinner, walk for a few hours, and then head home to catch some z's. Thanks again for supporting House of Mary by participating in our first annual Miles for Mary fundraiser.

If you have any additional questions about the event, please ask!

The Charge

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers."
Picture
Twice this week, myself and a few of the other HoM board members have been taught (and charged) with the verses from Acts 2:41-47. In these verses, Luke explains the lives of those in the early church. These new believers set the perfect example of what it means to live in community and to love one another. As I re-read these verses over and over again, I pray that this is exactly the community and love that every woman that enters the House of Mary will experience. I am blessed by the other board members and the experiences we share. I can't wait until we get to show that same love at HoM. Though we will offer shelter, classes, and other essentials, our mission must be to bring others closer to the Lord. We are still far from our goal of building houses, but we can and will use this time to pray for those that will come once our doors open. Please join me in praying that many will be redeemed and restored in Christ through HoM. Love to you all.

In Christ,
Suzonna

"And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved."
