We wanted to take a moment to express our sincerest thanks to each person or group that made a donation to House of Mary in honor of D'Ann. Because of your generosity, the entire House of Mary kitchen has been funded. From cabinets and appliances to countertops and tile backsplash. D'Ann loved to host her friends and family in her own home. She had such a gift of hospitality and it seemed only fitting to allocate donations made in her honor to this part of the house.
In addition to your generous donations, every message, comment, note, and prayer has meant the world to us. We truly appreciate the kindness our community has shown over the last month. Thank you.
House Update –
There has been a lot of exciting progress made on the house over the last couple of months! When D'Ann found out her cancer had returned she was adamant that we not let her diagnosis or prognosis slow down the house build one bit. So we are continuing to move forward! Here are a few things that have been happening recently:
- Fire sprinkler system completed and tested
- Insulation
- Sheetrock installed, taped, and floated
- Texture sprayed on ceiling and walls
- Interior doors installed
- Interior trim completed
- Closet shelving and rods installed
- Ceiling and walls painted
- Production on all cabinetry started
We also recently had an online "Fund a Need" event where are large portion of build related items were purchased for the house! Bathroom vent fans and hardware, door knobs, and almost half of the main flooring for the house (you can click HERE to help cover the cost of the remaining boxes of flooring).
Moving forward is definitely bitter-sweet, but we are hopeful for the future. As always, thank you for your continued support.
